Long overdue photo dump in progress…
Does anyone really blog or even read blogs anymore? Me. I do.
Honestly, I miss the days when people still blogged. I get that everything is a YouTube video or a Reel or a TikTok nowadays, but I just kind of like being able to read and look at stuff at my own pacing. Ya know? Maybe I’m just old now. I don’t know. But even in my 20’s, I have always loved blogs way more than videos. Sometimes videos are just information overload and I get overwhelmed and stop watching.
Anyway…. so I went to Europe in October and it is now January 2023. So I apologize to the 2, occasionally 3 folks who read this damn blog. Onward march.
Amsterdam was definitely one of my favorite travel places of all time! The whole city is just a vibe. I feel like there are two types of people that travel to Amsterdam: Those who want to ride bikes and go to museums and those who want to WEEEEEEEEEED.
JK, I’m sure most people are a mixture of both. But honestly, I didn’t know jack shit about Amsterdam besides hearing stories of my college friends going there to party and smoke a lot of weed and oh yeah, the hookers in the windows at Red Light District. Ian was the one who planned that part of the trip, so I thought, oh is this a side of Ian that is about to be unleashed??? Because none of that sounded like something he cared about.
As it turns out, he went there for the bikes. I honestly had no idea it was known for that. I don’t know anything.
Amsterdam really opened my eyes to smaller European cities and how differently they operate there. The streets are always clean, people rather cycle than take cars, things are cheaper, and stores are more quaint and charming. I’ve only been to London, England, prior to this trip, so I really had no perspective of life in other parts of Europe (Brexit but it’s still Europe okay).
Hoping one day we can visit other parts of Netherlands! And I want to learn some basic Dutch but my pronunciation is so awful. I mean, I’m not even good at speaking English and that’s my first language.
