Springridge Strawberry Farm
Went to a strawberry farm out in Milton, Ontario, to get some fresh farm strawberries and it did not disappoint.
shot on canon AF35M. I can’t remember what film I shot this on, but most likely it was Superia 400.
Overcast day. Check out the REDS in these photos! They really pop on this camera.
Unfortunately, all of the indoor photos came out blurry. RIP.
Not that I’ve had a lot of experiences with strawberry farms, but these were hands down, the BEST strawberries I have ever had in my life. They were sweet but not too sweet and had just that subtle hint of sourness to them. They were so fresh and had a perfect crunch. So worth the 1hr drive for these beauties.
the following photos are all shot on Ricoh GR II
I’m just glad it was overcast and not super sunny. The summers in both Upstate NY and Toronto are INSANITY. It is so humid and hot. It’s honestly disgusting. Having hot temperature is one thing, but the humidity is whack. My skin does feel hydrated though, but that’s the only positive thing I can say about it.
Life blurbs.
I’ve been really in-tune with making art again. I feel like it comes in phases, but I definitely feel more inspired to be unapologetically creative instead of trying to hustle in the corporate world. It’s another reason why I wanted to break into freelancing instead of a 9 to 6. Okay, we’re venturing into a deep water topic here, but my point is, I’ve just really changed the way I think about working. I used to think the best thing to do was work for a bunch of Fortune 100s, Fortune 500s, and make a name for myself up the corporate ladder. But the deeper I get into it, the more I realize it ain’t for me.
I used to seek solace in monetary valuables. The latest and greatest cameras. Designer bags and shoes. 5-star hotels and a nice car can’t hurt. And although being bougie is quite nice, and being able to treat yourself to nice things also feels good once in a while, I just don’t really think those things bring me happiness anymore. I’ve sold and continue to sell my designer things. I sold most of my newer cameras. Although, since photography is my hobby, I have a hard time downsizing my camera collection. But, now instead of investing in the latest and greatest, I look for thrift finds, older digital cameras, and less of the ‘hyped’ stuff.
In some sense, photography has given me a new sense of purpose in life. I live a pretty sedentary life because my profession requires me to sit in front of a screen for long hours. Photography gives me a reason to be mobile, venture out, and be healthier. I say this, while I know very damn well right after I write this blog, I’m going to sit on my desk and play Wild Rift lmao. But you know, point still stands.
