A New York minute

NYC | Fujifilm X100 | Chrome Simulation

NYC is one of those places that I love and I hate. I hate how busy and hustle/bustle it is. There’s way too many things going on at once. The air is foggy. The streets smell like piss. Way too many brave, lost souls, getting in your face on the subway. But there’s always been something dreamy about this city that you’ll just never really experience anywhere else. There’s something that’s mesmerizing about the grittiness, the community atmosphere, and the realness of the city. Even though I never lived in NYC, the few times I have been there, I’ve always kinda felt the same way. There is something for everyone and although that sounds like a good thing, sometimes it’s overwhelming.

NYC, like L.A., is not for everyone. I lived in L.A. most of my life and I was never too fond of the city. There’s too much going on. Too many options. Too many people. But that’s the thing. No matter how I feel about these places, they are historical. They are full of culture. And the culture is what makes NYC such an amazing city. The “I LOVE NY” t-shirts are the truth. Even if it’s not your ideal city, you can’t not love NYC.
